Itenary

Day 1
  • Day 1: Maun → Nxai Pan National Park

    Early morning departure from Maun.

  • Drive to Nxai Pan National Park (approx. 3–4 hours).

  • Afternoon game drive across the pan, searching for springbok, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, and predators such as lion and cheetah.

  • Optional visit to Baines’ Baobabs (time and road conditions permitting).

  • Sundowners on the open pan followed by dinner under the stars.

  • Overnight in Nxai Pan.

  • Meals: Lunch, Dinner

Day 2
  • Day 2: Full Day in Nxai Pan

    Early morning game drive at first light.

  • Return to camp for brunch and a rest during the heat of the day.

  • Afternoon game drive exploring different areas of the pan and surrounding woodlands.

  • Excellent opportunities for photography and observing desert-adapted wildlife.

  • Overnight in Nxai Pan.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3
  • Day 3: Nxai Pan → Makgadikgadi (Khumaga)

    Early morning game drive in Nxai Pan.

  • After breakfast, transfer south to the Makgadikgadi Pans, focusing on the Khumaga area along the Boteti River.

  • Afternoon game drive along the river, known for large concentrations of elephant, zebra, wildebeest and predators in the dry season.

  • Sundowners overlooking the river or pans.

  • Overnight near Khumaga.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4
  • Day 4: Full Day in Makgadikgadi (Khumaga)

    Early morning game drive along the Boteti River and surrounding plains.

  • Strong chances of seeing large elephant herds, seasonal zebra movements, and predators.

  • Return to camp for brunch and downtime. Afternoon game drive or optional short walk in the area.

  • Evening around the campfire with open views of the pans.

  • Overnight near Khumaga.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5
  • Day 5: Makgadikgadi → Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR)

    Early morning departure from Khumaga.

  • Drive into the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, one of Africa’s largest and most remote protected areas.

  • Afternoon game drive in the CKGR, searching for black-maned Kalahari lions, cheetah, brown hyena, gemsbok, springbok and other desert species.

  • Experience the vast open plains and fossil river valleys.

  • Overnight in the Central Kalahari.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 6
  • Day 6: Full Day in the Central Kalahari

    Early morning game drive in the CKGR. Focus on predator tracking and exploring the wide-open landscapes.

  • Return to camp for brunch and a rest. Afternoon game drive in a different section of the reserve.

  • Final night in the deep Kalahari with dinner under an immense star-filled sky.

  • Overnight in the Central Kalahari.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 7
  • Day 7: Central Kalahari → Maun

    Early morning game drive in the CKGR. Breakfast at camp.

  • Depart the Central Kalahari and drive back to Maun (full day of travel with wildlife viewing en route).

  • Arrival in Maun in the late afternoon.

  • Drop-off at your accommodation or Maun Airport.
